This cage collar REALLY protects the turf around the batting practice cage. Made from the latest generation of PVC-Polyester industrial mesh fabric – VIPOL™ Matrix Material, it easily withstands intensive baseball spike traffic. It is non-absorbent and easy to clean by hosing. The unique fabric allows this mat to be left down for longer periods without damaging the turf.

Our home base area is a high use, high traffic area during practice, so additional seeding and aerating must be done to keep the grass green and sharp. Our BP™ Zone Batting Cage Collar protects our fall overseeding and allows substantially more light and oxygen thru than does geotextile. There’s no “smothering” effect like geotextile, and it’s much lighter (seems like 3X’s less) than past protectors. It’s much easier to clean and handle, is less bulky for storage, and does not act like a sponge like geotextiles. It stays down both with or without stakes. It’s obvious, we really like it.
